Like most people my love affair with the Collie Rough dates
back to my child hold. Unlike most people I have never watch the Lassie movie or
TV series my love for this wonderful breed comes first hand from my very first
Collie Merlin. I have always had a Collie with me and can't imagine life with
out one. After the passing of Merlin on the 3rd of June 2005 I set about finding
another Collie to fill the hole in my heart. I posted a wanted add on the
Australian Pet Link website and with one email I got my start in the dog show
world.
After a email from Kilcoy Kennels in reply to my post I
became the very lucky owner of 2 wonderful dogs. The first my first Collie bitch Kilcoy
Rushed To N Angel "Diva" and the second a wonderful Shetland Sheepdogs by the
name of Harlie. Harlie and Diva owner was moving into a flat and could not take
them so with Bernadette help she placed them into our wonderful with in days. These 2 dogs were brought as pets but after a visit to a local
show society show I was encouragement to trail them in Agility. Which is what we
did and from the first trail we have had a
great deal of success in this field and look forward to the future.
2009 saw us branch out to the conformation show world with
our new girl which is on loan from Kilcoy Kennels Ch Ollerom Scarboughfair.
Liberty is such a great teacher and we are having so much with her. Liberty is
also being training for Agility and having so much fun. She will return to
Kilcoy Kennels in June where she will be matted to a stunning Tri boy and we
have plans to add a new addition to the family from this litter.
On the 9th March 2009 we were granted the prefix of Tirtairngire which means
"The Land Of Promise" which I am sure with the help of my great friends my
collie land will be very promising.
